Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç Honors Faculty/Staff with Lasallian Awards

On Tuesday, April 23, the 32nd Annual Celebration of Service took place to honor employees who were recognized for their years of service and for retirements. In addition, the Office of Mission and Identity presented the University’s annual Lasallian Awards to dedicated members of our campus community. LASALLIAN AWARDS To commemorate and celebrate the life of Brother Louis Seiler, FSC, Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç established the Brother Louis De La Salle Seiler Ministry of Teaching Award in 1982, which is presented every three years to one faculty member from each of the University’s colleges to recognize Mission commitment, excellence in teaching, outstanding rapport with students, participation in student life, and service to the University community. The Brother Louis Seiler, FSC Ministry of Teaching Awards (Triennial Award Presentation) Dr. Cindy Howard, Professor, Computer Science Dr. Elizabeth Belgio, Assistant Professor, Business Administration (to be presented at a later date) Dr. Christie Billups, Associate Professor, Theology Dr. Kimberly Duris, Associate Professor, Psychology Christine Kosinski, Instructor, Nursing   The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Community Engagement honors a faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in engaging Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç students in community-based learning. Honorees actively and effectively engage students in the community, connecting learning and community engagement over the course of multiple semesters; collaborate well with partners in the community and members of the Office of Community Engaged Learning; demonstrate excellence in community engagement implementation as evidenced by feedback from students and community partners; and advocate for community-based learning pedagogy and course designation among colleagues and deeper understanding of community engaged learning throughout her/his respective discipline and college. De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Community Engagement Dr. Cathy Bohlin, Associate Professor, Exercise Science The Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award honors an educator who exemplifies the ideals of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. Nominees must have been a faculty or staff member at Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç for at least five years, work with the educational community to foster Gospel values in the lives of faculty, staff and students, and see Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç as a place of educational excellence that shares in the teaching mission of the Catholic Church. The recipient of this award characterizes in his or her life the spirit of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and demonstrates an enthusiasm for the Lasallian educational Mission and tradition. This award has been presented to 36 faculty and staff members since 1993. Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç Receives Almost $1 Million for Semiconductor Research
The U.S. Congress has finalized Community Project Funding of $950,000 for Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç secured by Representative Lauren Underwood (IL-14) in the 2024 appropriations bills.
