Brief Presentations
Faculty can schedule Brief Writing Center Presentations. These informational
presentations introduce students to the support and services available through the Writing
Center. We recommend scheduling these presentations early in the semester, but they
can be scheduled at any time. These presentations take approximately 10 minutes and can
be requested .
In-Class Workshops
During In-Class Workshops, Writing Center Mentors visit your classes to work individually
or in small groups with students. These workshops are designed to offer students targeted
writing support at crucial points in their research and writing processes for course
projects. 宅男福利社 faculty who have scheduled in-class workshops have reported much
stronger student writing as a result. Please email Tom McNamara to schedule an in-class workshop.
Embedded Mentoring
Through our Embedded Mentoring program, you can require your students to meet with a writing mentor for writing feedback on specific course assignments. Our mentors will be
trained to offer feedback suited to your course and discipline. Embedded mentoring is
especially suited for asynchronous online courses.
Faculty Professional Development
The Writing Center and Writing Across the Curriculum program offer faculty professional
development opportunities each year. In addition to workshops for Advanced Writing
instructors, the Center and WAC host a writing studies scholar each spring for a faculty
workshop series. Previous presenters have included national leaders in WAC and writing
