Upsilon Pi Epsilon National Honors Society

Membership in this International Computer Science Honors Society not only looks great on your resume, but provides you with great professional and philanthropic opportunities. Any student who has earned a minimum of 64 college credit hours, and has maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher in Computer Science courses is eligible for membership. Prometheon Technology Club

Open to students from all majors who share a love of technology and imagination, this group gets together to create and enjoy computer games, videos, music and electronic projects - from designing MAME cabinets to tricking out Xboxes, holding robotics competitions and hosting all-night gaming parties. Prometheon members also share their knowledge, hosting educational sessions on computer security, buying an HD TV and other relevant consumer topics. They have also headed up computer collection drives and refurbishment efforts to support charitable organizations.

Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area CS Division

Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç' Computer and Mathematical Sciences Department is a prominent part of the Computer Science Division of the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area. This organization provides several opportunities for Computer Science majors, including a fall seminar series on cloud computing and a spring programming competition in which Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç has had historic success.

ISACA

The ISACA-Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç University Student Organization is dedicated to providing student members greater career insight and networking opportunities in the areas of Cybersecurity, information systems, information security risk optimization, IT audit and governance and compliance of computing systems. The organization is recognized by ISACA International and supported by the local ISACA Chicago chapter.

ISACA is a non-profit, global member association focused on Cybersecurity, IT Audit and Assurance professionals, IT governance, IT risk management, IT compliance, and information security management. ISACA members represent nearly all industry categories:  financial, public accounting, government/public sector, technology, healthcare, utilities and manufacturing

ISACA publishes a widely-used industry framework for IT and Information Security governance called COBIT, administers popular professional certifications Cybersecurity Nexus Fundamentals (CSX), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), is headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and has approximately 110,000 members worldwide and 204 chapters in 86 countries.

The objectives of the ISACA- Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç student chapter are to:

  1. Develop relationships and provide networking opportunities between Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç students and IT and Information security professionals.

  2. Supplement classroom learning with greater career insight by inviting guest speakers and by interacting with professionals at events sponsored by ISACA-Chicago.

  3. Provide knowledge and experience to put students far ahead of the competition when it comes time to begin their careers.

  4. Help students with scholarships, internships and career opportunities.

  5. To keep students abreast of local, national and international current events in IT, cybersecurity threats, exploits and controls.

  6. Provide a supportive environment that encourages and trains students to participate in cybersecurity and computing systems competitions.

  7. Provide students access to ISACA journal, webcasts, and many resources for education beyond the classroom.
