Observation Hours

In the program's application review process, applicants are required to complete a minimum of 40 PT observation hours from either a PT or a PTA, observing in at least two different settings, without assigning any weighting to these hours or penalizing applicants for exceeding the requirement. These observation hours are viewed as opportunities for applicants to gain valuable insights into the field of physical therapy, confirm their interest and dedication, and develop a deeper understanding of clinical practices and patient interactions. While exceeding the minimum requirement or having experiences across various settings may demonstrate a broader understanding of the profession, it is not a requirement for consideration. Instead, the focus is on evaluating applicants holistically, considering their academic achievements, personal attributes, experiences, and potential contributions to the physical therapy profession, with PT observation hours serving as one component of this comprehensive evaluation.

Academic Prerequisites

Applicants for the DPT program must hold a Bachelor's degree and complete the required coursework with a grade of 'C' or higher, while maintaining both a cumulative GPA and a prerequisite GPA of 3.0 or above. Pass/Satisfactory grades may be accepted, subject to approval by the DPT Program's Admissions Committee.
